Lunch at The Huntington

Today, Mom and Kasia (pronounced, Kasha, my nanny) took me to The Huntington for a nice long walk in the museum and gardens. Kasha picked the perfect spot in the Japanese Garden for me to eat my lunch.

Three Weeks and Growing Like a Weed

I had my two-week check up last Friday, and weighed in at 9 lbs, 1 oz (I’ve basically regained my birth weight and then some back) and measured 22.5 inches long. I’m in the 75 percentile for weight and 90 percentile for height.

This week, my belly button fell out so now I can take real baths. I’ve outgrown my “newborn gowns” mom dressed me in during my first week and have also outgrown the small-sized SwaddleMe blankets (see picture below). Mom just ordered a set of large-sized ones for me. Hopefully they’ll get here soon. I’m also just inches away from outgrowing my bassinet as well. Mom and Dad are trying to not think about all the new stuff I will soon need.

Two Weeks!

Here I am enjoying tummy time! Milestones from this past week include going out to an adult dinner with my parents and Mimi; sleeping for 5-6 hours at night; and continuing my development (staring at faces, holding my neck up, smiling, starting to coo, longer stretches of active alert time, etc.)

Mimi and Me

This past weekend, my Koss grandparents from Midland, TX came to meet me. Mimi spent hours and hours holding and feeding me, and even took me on a walk around the neighborhood. I can’t wait for her next visit!

Future Thumb Sucker?

We’ll have to wait and see but this could be an early indication.

One Week!

I’m officially a week old (as of yesterday). It’s hard to believe that just a week ago I was refusing to come out, but now that I’m here, I’m really starting to like it. Especially when Mom and Dad snuggle with me.

I’m looking forward to meeting Grandpa and Grandma Koss tomorrow! Wishing them safe travels.

How’s Sam? (posted by Mom)

A lot of you have been wondering how Sam has taken to his new little brother. Sam has been doing great (although he misses being the only “baby” in the house), but has taken Tank into his inner circle by being protective of him. Whenever someone visits and picks up the baby, he follows them around to make sure they aren’t going to hurt him. Tank is very lucky to have such a great four-legged brother!

Super Dad! (posted by Mom)

As always, Philip has been truly amazing these past few weeks, and it’s been so heartening to watch him as a father. At the hospital, he was bouncing off the walls with much joy and pride. In fact, in the recovery room, the nurse said “Wow! I have never seen a more excited father before,” as he would come in every 5-10 minutes giving me a play-by-play of what was going on with Tank. It’s one of my favorite memories of Tanner’s birth.

Now that we’re home, he’s really been keeping everything together for us. Dad duties have included most of the diaper changes, giving Tanner his first sponge bath at home and just really being there for us. As the picture shows below, it’s been a lot of work!
